Global Action for Agrochemical Safety Inc. (GAFAS) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the health of farmers, agricultural workers, pesticide applicators, and their families from the harmful effects of pesticide exposure. We work at the intersection of public health, agriculture, and environmental safety to reduce pesticide poisoning and promote safer, more sustainable farming practices.
Founded in December 2024, GAFAS was created in response to the growing global crisis of pesticide-related illness and death—particularly in low-income and developing communities where access to protective equipment, education, and resources is limited.
Global Action for Agrochemical Safety Inc. (GAFAS) protects the health of farmers, agricultural workers, pesticide applicators, and their families by reducing pesticide poisoning and exposure. We achieve this through distributing personal protective equipment (PPE), delivering education on safe pesticide handling, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
A world where every farmer and pesticide applicator— regardless of income, geography, or gender-can work safely, protect their families, and cultivate crops without risking their health or the environment.
Uwayo's philosophy-"Protecting those who feed the world"-anchors GAFAS's mission in empowerment, education, and community-driven sustainability. His direct field involvement and international network provide GAFAS with both credibility and visibility.
